Apple cider vinegar has many health benefits for our pet dogs and cats. It is an all natural way to treat conditions in pets that would otherwise be treated at a veterinarians office, it can save time and money. Best of all apple cider vinegar works!
When mixed with equal parts of purified water apple cider vinegar makes a great ear cleaner and helps stave off yeast infections. Wet a cotton ball with the solution and wipe out your dogs ear canal. Follow with a dry cotton ball to remove excess moisture.
Apple cider vinegar can also be used as a treatment for fleas. Mix a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray on to your dogs fur until the coat is wet. You can also rub the solution into your dogs or cats skin after applying. Reapply as needed to prevent fleas.
Your pets skin can also benefit from apple cider vinegar. If your dog is prone to allergies, environmental or food, apple cider vinegar can soothe the skin. A mixture of equal parts water and vinegar rubbed into the skin is recommended. However if your pet has open sores or is severely inflamed wait until the skin heals. Adding a tablespoon for large water dishes and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar for small water dishes can help prevent skin problems from occurring.
