As pet sitters, we find the selection of cat treats in the pet store a bit daunting. Here are a few quick and easy recipes you can make at home. Please share with your other pet owning friends.

Tasty Cheese Bites
- 3/4c white flour
- 3/4c shredded cheddar cheese
- 5 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4c plain yogurt
- 1/4c cornmeal
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Combine all ingredients until a dough forms
Knead dough and roll to 1/4″ thick
Place 1″ sized pieces on a greased cookie sheet
Bake for 25 minutes
Makes 2 dozen
Chicken Biscuits
- 1 1/2c shredded cooked chicken
- 1/2c chicken broth
- 1c whole wheat flour
- 1/3c cornmeal
- 1 tbsp soft margarine
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Combine wet ingredients
Add flour and cornmeal
Knead dough and roll out to 1/4″ thickness
Cut 1″ sized pieces and place on an ungreased cookie sheet
Bake for 20 minutes
Makes 18 cookies
Mackerel Bites
- 1/2c canned mackerel
- 1c whole grain breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp brewers yeast
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Drain oil from mackerel, in a bowl break up mackerel with a fork
Combine the remaining ingredients and mix well
Drop 1/2 teaspoonfuls of batter onto a greased cookie sheet
Bake for 8 minutes
Makes 100-120 treats
